On November 7, 2020 or 'N7 Day', a date first declared in 2012 by BioWare as an annual 'worldwide celebration' of the Mass Effect media franchise,[1] the upcoming release of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition was officially announced.[2][3][4] They stated that the goal of the remaster was 'not to remake or reimagine the original games, but to modernize the experience so that fans and new players can experience the original work in its best possible form.' The remaster will also feature downloadable content, although it is not known if all DLC will be included at this time. It will also include enhanced 'textures, shaders, models, effects, and technical features of three enormous games.'[2]

However, one line continues to puzzle me, when the Leviathan explains how it was possible to fall victim to their own tool given that they had made the tool specifically to prevent this same effect in the lesser races, the Leviathan basically explains that it was their own arrogance that allowed it to happen. For Mass Effect 3 on the Xbox 360, a GameFAQs message board topic titled 'The ending options & Leviathan implications.spoilers.'.

Release[edit]

The remaster is scheduled to be released in Q1/Q2 2021 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, with next-gen upgrades for the Xbox Series X and Series S and the PlayStation 5.[2]
